The Wonder Of Semiconductors

Semiconductor is any solid or liquid material which is able to conduct electricity at room temperature more readily than an insulator, but less easily than a metal. A Light-Emitting Diode (LED), device that emits a single wavelength of light when charged with electricity is made of semiconductors, mixed with phosphors, substances that absorb electromagnetic radiation and reemit it as visible light. When electrical current passes through the diode the semiconductor emits infrared radiation, which the phosphors in the diode absorb and reemit as visible light.

The visible emission is useful for indicator lamps and alphanumeric displays in various electronic devices and appliances. In various LED TV Reviews, you can find this feature in devices such as remote controls and cameras that focus automatically use infrared LEDs, which emit infrared radiation instead of visible light. LEDs also provide much more flexibility than ordinary lights. With a flick of a switch, you can change the ambience of a room by changing the color of the lights.
